Rina Captures STARDOM 5 Star Grand Prix

STARDOM wrapped up its 5 Star Grand Prix tournament on Sunday. Nineteen-year-old Rina emerged as the overall winner of the month-long competition.

The final night took place at Ryogoku Kokugikan, also known as Sumo Hall. The event drew an announced attendance of 5,004, marking the second highest for the promotion this year.

The semi-final matches aired free on the promotion's YouTube channel at the start of the show. Starlight Kid advanced by defeating World of Stardom champion Suzu Suzuki, while Rina moved forward after beating Maika. Both semi-final bouts lasted just under seventeen minutes.

In the main event final, Rina defeated Starlight Kid in a twenty-seven-minute match. Rina secured the victory with her Pink Devil finishing move.

Rina debuted in wrestling at age ten after training with the late Hana Kimura. She is the twin sister of Hina and the younger sister of Hanan, all of whom compete in STARDOM, and she currently wrestles as a member of H.A.T.E.

The tournament started on July 18 with thirty-two participants divided into four blocks. Rina competed in the A Block of the Red Stars section, earned nine points during the round-robin stage, and then defeated Rina Yamashita, Konami, Maika, and Starlight Kid in the playoff rounds to claim the title.
