Netflix Ousts Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria

Netflix Ousts Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria

Netflix has removed its chief content officer Bela Bajaria from the position. The streamer decided to part ways with the executive who oversaw its programming strategy.

Bajaria managed a content budget of 20 billion dollars. She played a key role in bringing WWE programming to Netflix beginning in 2025.

The departure follows one day after the company cut around 1,000 jobs. This occurred amid underperforming stock and stalled audience engagement on the platform.

Co-CEO Ted Sarandos recently acknowledged that the service was not growing as fast as desired. Former Fox and Disney executive Peter Rice will take over the role previously held by Bajaria.
