Kelani Jordan Found Realism Hardest In Wrestling Training

“So some things were a struggle, like some things were easy, as in a sense of, like, body control, air awareness, like those things. High-flying came very natural, and I wasn't really, like, afraid of anything. But the struggle was, like you said, not being perfect, 'cause like gymnastics, you're judged on a scale of perfection.— Kelani Jordan
WWE NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan opened up about the challenges she faced during her early training in pro wrestling. The former gymnast found it relatively straightforward to adapt her body control, air awareness and high-flying abilities to the ring.
Jordan also pointed out that wrestling is a contact sport requiring dependence on a partner whereas gymnastics allowed her to perform independently without touching anyone. She added that while gymnasts are taught to tune out external distractions she now has to listen to the fans react and stay aware of her surroundings during promos. Jordan's transition has proved successful as she won the NXT Women's Championship only three years into her wrestling career.
