Kam Hendrix Assists Jackson Drake NXT North American Title Retention

Jackson Drake retained the NXT North American Championship on Tuesday night's episode of WWE NXT by defeating challenger EK Prosper. Lockwood distracted Prosper by grabbing his leg while the referee checked on Drake, allowing the champion to launch Prosper into the ring ropes.

Drake followed with a springboard Spanish Fly and a cutter that earned him a near fall before ascending the top rope for a headbutt that sent Prosper to the mat. Prosper responded by hitting a hurricanrana on Drake, followed by a leg lariat and a poisonrana after fending off Baylor and Smokes.

In the closing sequence, as Prosper climbed the top rope to attempt a moonsault, Lockwood jumped onto the apron to distract the referee while Kam Hendrix pushed Prosper off the turnbuckle. This interference enabled Drake to hit a Shining Wizard on Prosper for the pinfall victory.

Drake first won the NXT North American Championship by beating Myles Borne at NXT Heatwave on August 30. He has since defended the title successfully against Tavion Heights and now Prosper on NXT programming.
