Jeff Jarrett defends comedy spot at WrestleDream
“I mean, funny, don’t draw money is such a situational [concept]. I just don’t think you can paint it as…look, creative is subjective. Did you hear the reaction? They [the crowd] loved it.— Jeff Jarrett
Jeff Jarrett addressed criticism of a comedy spot that took place at WrestleDream. He described the idea that comedy cannot draw money as situational and emphasized that creative decisions in wrestling are subjective.
Jarrett pointed out that the live crowd reacted positively to the spot and enjoyed it. He acknowledged that such moments are not for everyone and opinions on them can vary.
He highlighted Mick Foley's ability to blend comedy with serious wrestling. Foley could pull out a sock for a strong crowd reaction with the Mandible Claw and then continue effectively in his matches.
Jarrett noted that Foley was skilled at keeping the momentum going after incorporating humorous elements during his prime.
