Former UCLA Linemen Try Out for WWE in Hawaii

Former UCLA offensive linemen are among the hopefuls attending a WWE tryout in Hawaii. The event is part of the company's 2026 Hawaii WWE Live Tour.
The candidates include Yutake Mahe and Noah Pulealii. Mahe appeared in 24 games for the Bruins from 2021 to 2025 while standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 325 pounds.
Pulealii played in three games for UCLA during the same timeframe. Both athletes have Polynesian backgrounds.
The tryout allows participants to learn from several WWE stars including Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso. Polynesian wrestlers have long played a major role in the company's history through the Anoa'i family.
Additional instructors at the tryout include Women's World Champion Liv Morgan, Rey Mysterio and Bayley. A pipeline has long existed between college football and WWE, with past and present stars including Roman Reigns, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, The Rock, Goldberg and John Cena having football backgrounds.
WWE is scheduled to hold live events in the area on October 16 and 17 featuring performers such as Seth Rollins, The Usos, Jacob Fatu, Oba Femi and Liv Morgan.
