Federal Court Rejects WWE McMahons' Challenge In Ring Boys Suit

A federal court has rejected a constitutional challenge by WWE and the McMahons in a sexual abuse lawsuit filed by former ring boys.
The U.S. District Judge in Maryland issued a 26-page opinion upholding the state's Child Victims Act of 2023. The law removed time limits for civil lawsuits involving childhood sexual abuse.
The ruling allows the survivors' claims against WWE and the McMahons to move forward. It follows an earlier court decision that largely denied the defendants' initial motions to dismiss.
The lawsuit alleges that WWE employees recruited underage boys to work at wrestling events. Those employees are accused of using their positions to groom and sexually abuse the minors.
The plaintiffs claim that WWE leadership, including Vince and Linda McMahon, knew or should have known about the abuse. They further allege that no reasonable steps were taken to prevent it.
