Drew McIntyre Calls CM Punk a Piece of Crap

Drew McIntyre has been away from WWE programming for six months after his loss to Jacob Fatu during WrestleMania 42 weekend. The 41-year-old used the time to film two movies starring alongside Russell Crowe: The Last Druid and Highlander, the latter also featuring Henry Cavill. There is no confirmed date for his in-ring return.

McIntyre expressed strong personal dislike for CM Punk. He stated that he avoids Punk whenever possible and described him as a genuine piece of crap whom he cannot stand. McIntyre noted that writers have informed him of upcoming work with Punk, acknowledging that despite his feelings, Punk performs well in his role.

According to McIntyre, pairing the two wrestlers creates engaging content for audiences. He emphasized the need for professionalism to prevent real physical altercations, claiming he would overpower Punk in a genuine fight. McIntyre referenced Punk's UFC appearance as an example of how such a confrontation might unfold.

McIntyre and Punk engaged in a 10-month feud throughout 2024. The rivalry began after Punk suffered a torn triceps during the men's Royal Rumble match. Following McIntyre's World Heavyweight Championship defense against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, Punk attacked him, leading to Damian Priest cashing in Money in the Bank to defeat McIntyre for the title.

The program between McIntyre and Punk ended at the Bad Blood 2024 pay-per-view, where Punk secured the victory. McIntyre has won four world championships in WWE, including one World Heavyweight title and three WWE Championships. Punk holds eight world championships in WWE, three of which came in the past 14 months.
