AJ Francis Recalls Backstage Heat Over Celebrity Fan Choice
“When I was in WWE, sometimes you become a victim of your own success. Expressions, who’s with me now in TNA, I remember one time I got a little bit of heat in WWE because when Expressions was backstage as a celebrity fan before Money in the Bank in London, they asked him who did he want to see.— AJ Francis
AJ Francis says he got some backstage heat during his WWE tenure when celebrity guest Expressions, now his TNA tag partner, specifically asked to meet him instead of bigger names like Brock Lesnar or Randy Orton ahead of Money in the Bank 2023 in London. Francis, who performed as Top Dolla at the time, noted that people questioned the request and he felt he became a victim of his own success. He contrasted the situation with his current role in TNA where he feels he has better chances to showcase his talents.
